The Serbian Orthodox Church decided during this year celebrations of “St. Ilija” festivities that a women’s monastery is to be established and built around the existing church of “St. Ilija” in village Jabuka, Municipality Prijepolje. This task has been given to the Mother Ana who spent the last 14 years as the head of Monastery Mileseva. The construction of the monastery buildings had to be stopped due to the beginning of the winter, and for this reason the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia donated to a sisterhood a metal container in which they will spend a winter – however, the container came without basic equipment for i.e. heating and cooking. Due to this and in agreement with Mother Ana, representatives of the “Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon” collected financial means to procure a new wood-stove usable for heating and cooking. During the same visit, additional donation of food items and basic kitchen equipment has been provided to the sisterhood.
