Kosovo and Metohija Aids – July 22nd, 2013

Mr. Momcilo Arlov, on behalf of the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon, donated four purpose-built two sided book shelves for the school library of the Primary School “Vuk Karadzic” in Zvecan, as well as 248 books on French language which are intended to improves the teaching and learning process of the French language, as one of the compulsory foreign languages within the primary school curricula.

During the same occasion, Mr. Arlov agreed with Mr. Nenad Radenkovic, Director of the Primary School, to further strengthen cooperation in-between the Sovereign Military Order of Dragon and the Primary School “Vuk Karadzic” as the largest educational institution of this profile within the Municipality of Zvecan.

Aid to the Serbs in Kosovo


Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon raised humanitarian aid in cooperation with Parish of Saint George the martyr from Denmark and National Command of the Order for Denmark, leaded by Mr Aleksandar Hajder. The aid is consisting of over 150 bags and boxes of clothes and toys.

 

 

The larger part was donated to Serbs in Kosovo, especially in the northern part of province.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Grand Commander of the Order, Dejan Damnjanović, along with several members of the Order, visited monastery Banjska near Zvečan, officialy delivered aid to father Danilo, who is the abbot of the monastery.

 

 


One part of this aid was also given to the municipality of Sokobanja and to the Red Cross of Sokobanja. Aid was officialy given to the president of the municipality, Mr Dimitrije Lukić. We wish to use this opportunity to express our gratitude to Serbs from Denmark, as well as Danish people for their contribution to this cause. We are also expressing our thanks to everyone in our homeland for their contribution.

Helping the Center for protection of infants, children and youth

On the 10th of April 2012, Mr. Dejan Damnjanovic and Mr. Igor Marinkovic, on behalf of the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon, donated the books for the library of the Center for protection of infants, children and youth in Zvecanska street in Belgrade. On this occasion, as a conclusion of the meeting with Mr. Ljubisa Jovanovic, secretary of the Center, were formulated the future plans of help of our Order to the Center.

Helping the Shelter

The representatives of the Administration for Humanitarian Affairs of the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon, Mr. Miroslav Nestorovic and Mr. Igor Marinkovic were, on the 8th of February, at a meeting with the officials of the Shelter for Children from the Secretariat for Social Welfare of the City of Belgrade.

At this meeting, the plans to help the Shelter were outlined. The priority in terms of helping the Shelter is to find or build an adequate building, considering that the space, which is currently used, is inadequate.

Humanitarian Affairs of the Order

Mr. Miroslav Nestorovic was named the Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs of the Order by the Supreme Command of the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon. Mr. Nestorovic was appointed to this high position based on his expert skills and professional experience.

He graduated from the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Belgrade, and then obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor. He worked for many years in the automotive industry, and was also an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan. In addition, he did volunteer work at the local YMCA in Ann Arbor.
