Mr. Momcilo Arlov, on behalf of the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon, implemented a donation to the City Library “Vuk Karadzic” in Kosovska Mitrovica. Donation was composed out of 218 books in Serbian language from the area of domestic and world’s classic literature, domestic and world’s belletristic and specialized literature intended to expand the book fund of the Library and, along the same line, strengthening the overall performance of this cultural institution.

During a follow-up meeting with Ms. Olivera Stevic, Director of the Library, Mr. Arlov agreed on the future joint cooperation in-between the Library and the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon, especially in the area of cultural and social activities within the area of Kosovska Mitrovica Municipality.

As from the end of the armed aggression in 1999, the old building of City Library is out of reach for the Serbian community members due to the fact that the same one is located within the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.

Mr. Momcilo Arlov, on behalf of the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon donated humanitarian assistance to the Inter-municipal Center for Social Work in the total quantity of 73 bags of clothing and shoes for adults and children identified by the Center as the social cases in the Municipalities of Kosovska Mitrovica and Zvecan, along with the educational toys and games for preschool children which are to be further distributed to the newly established preschool facilities within the Serbian return villages in Kosovsko-mitrovacki County.

During the same occasion, Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon donated one office computer and office fax, which are intended to increase the quality of a daily performance of the Center.

As part of this specific activity, Mr. Arlov agreed with Mr. Miladin Djurovic, Director of the Inter-municipal Center for Social Work to jointly plan and organize a visit to Devic Monastery in the Municipality of Srbica, during which additional humanitarian assistance will be provided to the sisterhood of the Monastery, especially in the terms of clothing, food and hygienic items.

Mr. Momcilo Arlov, as the official representative of the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon, accompanied by Mr. Milorad Arlov, President of the Organizational Committee for Assistance to the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and Mr. Petar Djokic, Minister of Labor, War Veterans and Disabled Persons Protection, during laying down of the fundaments for the business and residential facility in the Kosovska Mitrovica residence area of Bosniak Mahala, which will combine space for the Republic of Srpska Cultural Center along with the space for eight apartment units for social cases and offices of the Inter-municipal Center for Social Work.

This project is financed by the Republic of Srpska Government in the total amount of half a million convertible marks and it is estimated that facility will be finalized during the next 100 days.

Mr. Milorad Arlov stated at this occasion: “It is my wish, as it is a wish of many Serbs, that river Drina will never run out of its water, but that it will disappear as a border.”

During a separate meeting with the President of the Organizational Committee for Assistance to the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, Mr. Momcilo Arlov, while expressing full support to this project, especially in the part concerning the establishment of the Republic of Srpska Cultural Center which is to serve as a strong connection in-between two parts of our nation, also discussed and established guidelines for further joint cooperation of the Committee and the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon, especially those concerning the assistance to the most vulnerable Serbs residing at the Kosovo and Metohija.

Official ceremony of the laying down of the fundaments for this facility was attended by the representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, representatives of local self-governments from the northern Kosovo; whilst the greeting and gratitude speech to the guests from Republic of Srpska was delivered by Mr. Radenko Nedeljkovic, Head of the Kosovsko-mitrovacki County.

Mr. Momcilo Arlov, on behalf of the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon, donated four purpose-built two sided book shelves for the school library of the Primary School “Vuk Karadzic” in Zvecan, as well as 248 books on French language which are intended to improves the teaching and learning process of the French language, as one of the compulsory foreign languages within the primary school curricula.

During the same occasion, Mr. Arlov agreed with Mr. Nenad Radenkovic, Director of the Primary School, to further strengthen cooperation in-between the Sovereign Military Order of Dragon and the Primary School “Vuk Karadzic” as the largest educational institution of this profile within the Municipality of Zvecan.

Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon raised humanitarian aid in cooperation with Parish of Saint George the martyr from Denmark and National Command of the Order for Denmark, leaded by Mr Aleksandar Hajder. The aid is consisting of over 150 bags and boxes of clothes and toys.

The larger part was donated to Serbs in Kosovo, especially in the northern part of province.

Grand Commander of the Order, Dejan Damnjanović, along with several members of the Order, visited monastery Banjska near Zvečan, officialy delivered aid to father Danilo, who is the abbot of the monastery.

One part of this aid was also given to the municipality of Sokobanja and to the Red Cross of Sokobanja. Aid was officialy given to the president of the municipality, Mr Dimitrije Lukić. We wish to use this opportunity to express our gratitude to Serbs from Denmark, as well as Danish people for their contribution to this cause. We are also expressing our thanks to everyone in our homeland for their contribution.
